v0.4 - War and/or Peace, Soviet Government, New Events

It’s been a while, and there are some major changes. Old saved games will probably have compatibility issues. Also, the source code has been released publicly at https://github.com/aucchen/petrograd_1917. Go hog wild! There are also likely many bugs here; please let me know!

Major Changes:

• Android APK download added
• Now, the game ends at the convocation of the Constituent Assembly rather than the elections (2 additional months).
• New periodic events: Crime Wave, Military Disorder, Enemy Reinforcements
• Peace negotiations after an armistice is signed, with the possibility of the resumption of war.
• New achievements for signing a peace treaty, or resuming a war after armistice.
• New event: SR Party Conference
• Option to form a Soviet Government if an all-socialist government is formed in the July Days (or a parliamentary-style socialist government).
• More details on war progress.
• Minority Nationality policies, Ukrainian Central Rada (no major effects for now)

Potential future changes:

• Soviet Government after Bolshevik takeover (this is incomplete for now).
• Workers’ control and other labor policies
• More historical events: Stockholm Conference, references to Western Front events like the Nivelle Offensive and the Third Battle of Ypres, others
• More war details, potential to “win” the war
• Menshevik + Kadet party conferences
• Alexander Kerensky’s Directorate government, the Democratic Conference and the Pre-Parliament
• Menshevik-Bolshevik reunification, a more developed moderate Bolshevik path
• Expand on the post-Constituent Assembly content - deciding the new constitution of Russia.
• Post-Red October content for Bolsheviks and opposition parties?
• Alternate beginnings for civil war, potentially a playable civil war

Future games:

• I am hoping to make two more games this year: the premise for one can be summarized as “Pageant but evil”, and the other might be a prequel/AU to The Archivist and the Revolution
• In an indeterminate timeframe, I hope to make two more games in the “Social Democracy” universe, one about the birth of the Weimar Republic in 1918, the other about the French Popular Front of 1936-1938. I also hope to make a Star Wars fangame about the Galactic Republic
