Day 3/4 updates, bugfixes
Updates
- Fixed an issue with the presidential election, where supporting Thälmann didn’t work.
- More options for emergency rule with President Braun.
- Some fixes to the epilogue text, which had some conditions mixed up.
- Fixed a Woytinsky action not working.
- Deporting Hitler should be possible now, but it has many conditions and might be difficult to see.
- In the Library menu, added text descriptions of the relations with the different parties.
There are certainly more bugs; reports would be welcome.
Other stuff
Hi! It’s nice to see so many people playing the Social Democracy game! I wrote most of this game in about a month (all in my spare time), and did little testing before releasing it. I absolutely did not expect to receive this much attention outside of my circles! It is fascinating and gratifying to see some of the discussion in the wild. A lot of you have gotten to places in this game I didn’t know were possible.
By the way, check out the other games in the Spring Thing, for which this game was originally made!
I want to do more updates, especially balancing, but given the fact that people are actually playing this game, I’m reluctant to do any major changes without some sort of testing framework, and maybe “stable” and “unstable” versions.
Here are the planned updates:
- Add more advisors, especially left-wing advisors (Paul Levi, Toni Sender, Kurt Rosenfeld). Add more advisor actions in general.
- Add more consequences for faction dissent, like the left-wing split and the formation of the SAPD.
- Interior Ministry and Prussian options like banning the various militias should have more effects.
- Balancing: make it harder to just constantly build up the Reichsbanner. There should be some conflicts between supporting pacifism and militarizing the Reichsbanner.
- Political violence: sometimes socialist militia members will kill people, and the party will face the consequences.
- Difficulty options
- Achievements
- A Steam release???
Updates might be slower in the future; I’m working on this in my spare time and have been neglecting some of my other obligations to work on this game.
